Pastors & Internet Porn
By A lot of my work involves helping those who struggle with internet pornography. It is honestly a sad reality when I think about how many Christian men have been effected by this sin. But an even sadder reality is how many church leaders have been effected also.
If you are a church leader and your are struggling, let me graciously encourage you not to hide. The nature of this sin is to find solace in the darkness, and to stay far, far away from the light (Eph 5:3-14). What do you do if you are struggling? Find someone you trust, and confess your sin to them (Prov 28:13-14). He who confesses and forsakes his sin will find mercy.
And if you are consistently lured into this sin then you need to seriously consider getting out of pastoral ministry. An overseer must be above reproach and self-controlled (1 Tim 3:2). Neither of these fit if you (as a pastor) if you are looking at internet porn. Pray for wisdom and get help if you are struggling.
