Family Bible Fellowship
Family Bible Fellowship is a small church that meets just south of Love’s Travel Stop in Hudson, along the I-76 frontage road. Each Sunday we gather for a time of singing, encouragement, and teaching from the Bible. We would like to extend an invitation to join us and briefly describe who we are.
As a group, we have given considerable thought to and discussion of our church name. Family Bible Fellowship was chosen to describe the kind of church we desire to be.
When we use the word Family, we are not making reference to a biological unit but to those who have chosen to believe in Jesus Christ and have become a son or daughter of God. In Mark 10:29, 30 it states “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands,”. We believe that once a person becomes a follower of Jesus, he or she enters into a new family, and our church is but one place where the family meets.
Bible is the center of our name, indicating that we desire to build our teaching and practice on the words of Scripture. Some core beliefs we hold to are: the complete trustworthiness and reliability of the Bible; salvation is found in Jesus alone by faith alone; an evidence of salvation would be good works that follow; a literal seven day creation; that baptism of believers and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances instituted by our Lord; and the soon return of Jesus for His church.
Fellowship represents the kind of life we have committed to and desire to live with one another. It comes from the Greek word koinonia and means to: be devoted to one another, honor one another, live in harmony with one another, accept one another, serve one another in love, be kind and compassionate to one another, admonish one another, encourage one another, spur one another on toward love and good deeds, offer hospitality, and love one another. We fully understand we do not do this perfectly, but it is our heart’s desire to be this kind of church.
If you are looking for a church family and desire a place to belong, we hope you might stop by and worship with us this Sunday. Our address is:
