Possibly because of the choice of words in translation, some of the words we use in the Chinese church “circle” often have another meaning in the American evangelical world. The term “new churches” in Chinese churches often refers to “new urban house churches”, that is, house churches dominated by white-collar workers and intellectuals, rising in the 21st century and more active in church establishment and social justice. And what about what American evangelicals call the “emerging church”? After reading this issue, you will have a more comprehensive understanding.
