Birthdays are a good opportunity to consider the past and anticipate the future. 9Marks just celebrated an important birthday—25 years. When we started out in 1998 we were just a few church leaders wanting to help pastors build healthy churches. We wrote a couple books, hosted some Weekenders, and started encouraging pastors to work together.
You have. With your help, hundreds of pastors and church leaders have contributed resources online and in print. Churches near and far are training pastors on the church. Congregations are partnering together on evangelism, membership, missions, and much more. And like-minded ministries are working together to encourage health in churches domestically and internationally.
As 9Marks plans for the future, we want to encourage more of all the above. More resources for churches growing in health. More pastors trained for ministry. More churches and church leaders partnering together to advance the gospel around the world. As the apostle Paul instructed Timothy to pass on what he heard, we want the same (2 Tim. 2:2). May this work continue until we join all God’s saints in singing his heavenly praise forevermore.
