And yet, we know it can feel more complicated than that. This is especially the case when we treat evangelism like a solo sport—like we’re in it all by ourselves. The good news is that Jesus didn’t just give the Great Commission to individual Christians. Instead, he gave it to his church. Local churches specifically share in Jesus’s command to make disciples of all nations together. What’s more is that every gospel preaching church is on the same team.
But how do churches evangelize together? For years, 9Marks has tried to help pastors and churches answer this question. With your help, we have written articles, committed entire issues of Church Matters, and published full length books all about evangelism in the local church. We have also held training events around the world where we discuss what a culture of evangelism is and how to build one. By God’s grace, many churches have responded by emphasizing evangelism in their congregations and in partnership with other churches.
The goal in all these efforts? More healthy churches sharing Jesus with the world. That’s why 9Marks exists and that’s why your help is so important. Thank you for your partnership with us in this great work.
